Holidays: The 4th of July

On Friday American people are going to celebrate a major national holiday the Independence Day, dedicated to the signing of the declaration, which declared the country free from the domination of the British Crown.
In many major U.S. cities parades and fireworks will be held. One of the most colorful fireworks show is traditionally held in New York. Tens of thousands of charges which  more than 20 minutes will decorate the sky in different colors will be launched from three barges on the East River. Of course, blue, white and red,  the colors of the American flag, will predominate.

This year's presentation will be devoted to the 200th anniversary of the writing of the national anthem of the United States, the song "The Star Spangled Banner" and  its background   was the famous Brooklyn Bridge, connecting  Manhattan and Brooklyn. The show, which will be monitored for hundreds of thousands of residents and visitors of the largest American cities,is annually organized  by the trading corporation Macy's. The last five years it has, however, held on the other side of Manhattan - on the Hudson River.
I want to congratulate all my American friends on the Independence Day and wish them a sparkling 4th of July filled with pride, honor and lots of fun!
And let's watch the video and listen to the American National Anthem
("The Star-Spangled Banner" is the national anthem of the United States of America. The lyrics come from "Defence of Fort McHenry", a poem written in 1814 by the 35-year-old lawyer and amateur poet, Francis Scott Key, after witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry by the British Royal Navy ships in Chesapeake Bay during the Battle of Fort McHenry in the War of 1812.

The poem was set to the tune of a popular British song written by John Stafford Smith for the Anacreontic Society, a men's social club in London. The singer is Sandi Patty)
Thanks tbgdrewsif for the video.
