Happy International Translation Day / З Днем Перекладача!

Today, on September 30 translators all over the world celebrate International Translation Day, an event intended to raise the profile of translators and make the public more aware of their work.
Many people see translators in a different way:

Of course, it's a joke;) Translators get  an indescribable pleasure from their work because every translator consists of many different "I" and "persons" who are willing to get out as soon as a new text appears on the computer screen or a new speaker begins his/her speech.
As for me, my passion for English started when I was a little girl and has never diminished. My whole career has got a strong connection with English: as a teacher and as a translator and interpreter.I find the profession of a translator to be a great thing.
Beyond linguistic barriers is a united world. And this is a great mission of all translators from the whole world due to their knowledge to make this world united.
So I congratulate all my colleagues on the ocassion of Internatinal Translation Day. May your work be alaways interesting for you!

The levels of language /

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment, abbreviated as CEFR or CEF, is a guideline used to describe achievements of learners of foreign languages across Europe and, increasingly, in other countries. It was put together by the Council of Europe as the main part of the project "Language Learning for European Citizenship" between 1989 and 1996. Its main aim is to provide a method of learning, teaching and assessing which applies to all languages in Europe.
The Common European Framework divides learners into three broad divisions that can be divided into six levels; for each level, it describes what a learner is supposed to be able to do in reading, listening, speaking and writing. These levels are represented in this table:

If you want to find out your level visit this site http://www.examenglish.com/CEFR/cefr.php and do the test. Good luck!;)

Music in our life: Autumn mood

Autumn is a beautiful and at the same time sad season. The skies are grey, the days get shorter, the weather is cooler, and the sound of rain pouring down your window. All these things are appealing to your soul.
This wonderful season inspires songwriters to write some of the greatest songs of all time.
I want to share with you one of my favourite. It's Justin Hayward "Forever Autumn".

Part 2

English is great: listening.

It's very important to emprove all your skills while learning English. But today I want to draw your attention to listening. Many students finds it very difficult. But to my mind the main problam is lack of practice and regularity.
So I want to offer you to visit http://learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/en where you can find a lot of interesting tasks which help you to improve your listening skills. Most podcasts have got texts. It allows you to use the material as you wish:  with the text or without it, or - alternating between different options. In addition, many podcasts have got special tasks. They check the understanding of the text and help you to memorize words.
Better to see than to hear, so lets visit this site and do English is Great Part 1:
